The Shining Union International (S.U.I.) is simply a union of people who seek eternity in a godless age. In order to survive in this hopeless world, we are trying to believe in "eternity" as atheists, without making "eternity" a monopoly of religious people.
When people think of The Shining, what comes to mind is Jack Nicholson's bizarre face peeking through the door he smashed open with an axe. S.U.I. has nothing to do with the Shining. But I want to break common sense about death in an instant, like Jack Nicholson broke a door in an instant. Beyond all nihilism and relativism, it is a testament to life's final brilliance, its eternity.I myself like Jack Nicholson, Stephen King, and Stanley Kubrick, so I wanted to name this group of thought experiments The Shining. How wonderful would it be if the brilliance at the end of life were to last forever?

ABOUT A SHINE AT THE END OF LIFE
Live better towards that shining.
We do not ask humans to live forever. Of course, if the body dies, there will probably be no such thing as a soul in this world, and we will become dust. Then, even if "eternal life" is another problem, can people who don't believe in the soul, God, not be able to believe in "eternity"? Do we have to believe in eternity as a cross-selling, where we must believe in God in order to believe in eternity?
At least we don't think that's the case.
Therefore, we focused on the rare thing that humans have, "consciousness."
As La Rochefoucauld famously said, "The sun and death cannot be seen directly", humans cannot recognize their own death. Even if you can be conscious of "Oh, I'm going to die", you can't be conscious of "Oh, I'm dead now", it's a matter of course.
"Death is something that can never be experienced, but is something that is definitely swallowed up." Then, if we are swallowed by death, will human life be completely meaningless and reduced to dust? We don't think so. At the end of life, there is a “glow” with eternity. From now on, I would like to proceed with one consideration about the shining.
It is a simple and clear theory that humans can never reach the contradiction of death, which can never be "conscious", and will continue to approach "eternity". Of course, this theory is like the famous "Achilles and the Tortoise", where the consciousness disappears into the darkness without realizing it, even if it cannot be conscious of it. Unknowingly, the consciousness that thinks it is eternally approaching death is suddenly swallowed up by nothingness and disappears. Human beings do not have eternal life, and they will absolutely die. However, just as there is a neurotic idea that the earth, humans, and this world were suddenly born five seconds ago at a certain moment, what if this world suddenly disappeared without anyone noticing? Since our consciousness does not know when this world has disappeared, it continues to approach its disappearance forever, and our "consciousness" is like a phantom limb that a person who has lost an arm can feel the phantom arm. Is it not in eternity?
Here, I will present the philosophical theory of mathematics.
"0.999...", which keeps "forever" approaching "1", is proved to be "1".
0.333… = ⅓
0.333…×3 =⅓×3
0.999… = 1
But is this correct? If the human life that continues to approach death forever is "0.999..." and death is "1", eternity will be the same as death. But we deny this in our philosophy. It may be so from the philosophy of mathematics, but our philosophy absolutely denies this. We are forever closer to death. Even if our consciousness disappears someday, we do not know when it will disappear, so the consciousness that we do have will continue to believe in a world that will never end. We are in eternity because humans have the rarity of consciousness. I wouldn't call it the truth. Our philosophy began with nihilism, because truth is, for example, just the ravings of poor nationalists. We ridicule truth in the spirit of punk and we want to live in our philosophies.
You may now know that we believe in eternity on the brink of death. But you might think that if the dying moments were hellish torments, hell would go on forever. This requires a little more research and deductive experience, but because the brain of a dying human being releases drugs and narcotics, on the verge of real death, a human becomes a "personal narcotic." Our position is that we are in a utopia. And we believe in "eternity" in the "personal utopia" that comes at the end of life. The “personal utopia” we built on our deathbed will shine forever and will last forever. Our consciousness continues to exist in a strange and happy "personal utopia" that never knows when it will disappear, as it continues to approach its end forever, even if it disappears completely.
That dream will remain and serve as proof that we are eternal beings. we believe in such things.

そのようなことはない、と少なくとも私たちは思っています。そこで私たちが着目したのは、人間が持っている稀有なもの、「意識」です。
ラ・ロシュフーコーの「太陽と死は直視することが出来ない」という有名な言葉からも分かる通り、人間は自らの死を認識することは出来ません。「あ、俺死にそう」というのは意識出来ても、「あ、俺今死んだわ」とは意識出来ないという、当たり前のことです。
死とは、絶対に経験が出来ないものであるにもかかわらず、絶対に飲み込まれてしまうものです。では、死に飲み込まれたら、人間の人生とは完全に無意味で、塵芥となってしまうのでしょうか。私たちは、そうは考えていません。人生の最期に、永遠性を伴った「輝き」があるのです。これから、その輝きについてひとつの考察を進めたいと思います。
決して「意識」することが出来ない死という矛盾に対して、人間は決して到達することは出来ずに、「永遠」に近づき続けるのではないか、という単純明快な理論です。もちろん、この理論はかの有名な「アキレスと亀」のようなもので、意識は、死を意識することが出来なくても、気付かない内にその闇に消えます。永遠に死に近づき続けていると思っている意識は自分の知らない内に、突然、無に飲み込まれて消えます。人間には永遠の命など無く、絶対的に死んでしまうのです。しかし、地球や人間、この世界がとある瞬間に唐突に五秒前に産まれたという神経症的な考えがあるように、この世界が、誰にも気付かれずに、唐突に消えたとしたら？私たちの意識はこの世界がいつ消えたのか分からないが故に、その消失に永遠に近づき続け、私たちの「意識」は、腕を失った人が幻の腕を感じる幻肢のように、永遠性の中にあるのではないでしょうか。
ここで数学という哲学の理論を出します。「永遠」に「1」に近づき続ける「0.999…」は、「1」であると証明されてしまいます。

しかしこれは正しいのでしょうか？永遠に死に近づき続ける人間の人生を「0.999…」、死を「1」とするのであれば、永遠性は死と同じことになってしまいます。しかし、私たちはこれを私たちの哲学で否定します。数学という名の哲学からすればそうなるのかもしれませんが、私たちの哲学はこれを絶対的に否定します。私たちは永遠に死に近づき続けます。意識がいつか消えたとしても、それがいつ消えたかわからないが故に、私たちがたしかに持っていた意識は、永遠に終わることがない世界を信じ続けます。私たちは人間が意識という稀有なものを持っているが故の永遠の中にいます。それを真理とは言いません。ニヒリズムから始まった私たちの哲学は、真理とは、例えば貧しい国粋主義者の戯れ言に過ぎないからです。私たちはパンクの精神で真理を馬鹿にして、私たちは私たちの哲学の中で生きたいと思っているのです。
これで私たちが死の間際の永遠性を信じていることは分かったかもしれません。しかしあなたは、その死の間際が地獄のような苦しみだとしたら、地獄が永遠に続いてしまうのではないか、と思うかもしれません。これはもう少し研究と演繹法的な経験の話を必要としますが、死に瀕した人間の脳内からはドバドバと脳内麻薬が出るが故に、本当の死の間際には人間は「個人的なユートピア」に居るのではないか、というのが私たちの立場です。そして、人生の最期に訪れる「個人的なユートピア」の中の「永遠性」を私たちは信じているのです。私たちが死の間際に築き上げた「個人的なユートピア」は永遠に輝き、永遠に続きます。私たちの意識は、完全に消えてもなお、その終わりに向かって永遠に近づき続けることで、いつ消えたかわからない奇妙で幸福な「個人的なユートピア」の中で存在し続けます。
その夢は残り続け、私たちが永遠の存在であることの証拠となります。私たちはそのようなことを信じています。

Believe in the eternity of a personal utopia at the end of life, all right, so what do you want in the end? you might say.
Let me answer. I don't say what I want to do, I just want to live.
Until now, the philosophy of religion has emphasized the eternity of life by preparing us with a hero named God, Superman. Human beings cannot sustain themselves without believing in eternity. God's hero was created out of our need.
Then, what did a philosophy that does not believe in God or eternity bring to humans? Nihilism, relativism, and humanism that has hopelessly overcome them.
However, the founder of this organization, Tomonori Kurokawa, who couldn't stand the lack of "eternity" in humanism, wondered if there was freedom to believe in "eternity" even in an age without God. Our philosophy began with this thought. From a relativist point of view, there is no basis for the truth, goodness, and beauty that Socrates gave as the cause of life. For there is neither God nor eternity. There is no absolute measure of what is true, what is good, what is beautiful, in a world without God or eternity.
Nevertheless, we human beings must conform to the common ideals that human beings have created, in other words, we must live better. But if death is the end, there is no need to live better. Live like a selfish and selfish dead person, and when you die, you'll be garbage. what's the problem?That's why we want to believe in eternity. If there is eternity in life, all the bad deeds and immoral deeds you did during your lifetime will remain forever.
That's why we just aim to live better while believing in eternity.
人生最期の個人的なユートピアの永遠性を信じる、それは分かった、では結局の所何がしたいのか？とあなたは言うかもしれません。
お答えしましょう。何がしたいと言うわけではなく、ただ、生きていたいのです。
今までの宗教という哲学は神という名のヒーロー、私たちにスーパーマンを用意することで人生の永遠性を強調して来ました。人間は「永遠」を信じること無しに自分を保つことが出来ないのです。神というヒーローは、私たちの必要に迫られて創られたのです。
では、神も永遠も信じない哲学が人間に何をもたらしたでしょうか？ニヒリズム、相対主義、それを絶望的に乗り越えたヒューマニズムです。しかしそのヒューマニズムに「永遠」というお墨付きがないことに耐えられなくなった当組織の発起人、黒川智紀が、神無き時代にも「永遠」を信じる自由はあるのではないか？と思ったことから我々の哲学は始まりました。ソクラテスが生きることの大義とした真・善・美には、相対主義的立場から言うと何の根拠もありません。そこに神も永遠も無いからです。何が真で、何が善で、何か美なのか、神も永遠もないこの世界で、絶対的な尺度などないのです。
それにも関わらず私たちは、人間は人間が産み出した共通理念のようなものに準じて、つまり、より良く生きなければなりません。しかし、死んで終わりだったら、より良く生きる必要などないでしょう。我利我利亡者のように生き、死んだら塵芥。何の問題があるでしょう？
だからこそ私たちは永遠を信じたいのです。人生に永遠があるのであれば、生前にした悪行、道徳に反する行い、すべてが永遠に残ってしまうのです。
だから私たちは、ただ、永遠を信じながらより良く生きることを目標とするのです。

I always wondered. If there is such a thing as absolute nothingness, death, in human beings, what is the difference between the lives of Adolf Hitler and Mother Teresa? Of course, one might have killed a lot of people and the other might have saved a lot of people. However, if there is no heaven and hell, if there is no final judgment, I think that it is the same in the sense of the tiny life of a human being who is just born and died. Some may have lived morally. Some may have lived hypocritically. Some may have made a living as a serial killer. Some may have committed suicide.Some may have lived on life support. Some may have lived as heads of state, while others may have been forced out of their countries and lived as refugees. One might have gone to war and cut off a baby's head. One might have been delighted or outraged to see it on the television in the living room. But death encompasses all human beings. If nothingness called death swallows everything, why are humans still alive? I thought about it and read a lot of books. Jean-Paul Sartre, whom I love very much, propagated humanism, saying that life has no meaning and that human beings should live strongly while giving meaning to life.Ludwig Wittgenstein said we must be silent about the unspeakable. Dr. Viktor Frankl made a Copernican turn by saying, "You shouldn't ask the meaning of life, but life asks you the meaning." Friedrich Nietzsche said we should get out of nihilism and become superhuman.But to me, the words of all atheists seemed empty. Many times in this game of life, I have inspired myself with the words of my favorite philosophers. But at times I felt so hopeless that I could not stand up. And I couldn't really get up. I even thought that there was no way I could die like this.The reason was that there is no eternity in my life here, not there. At such times, I suddenly remembered an idea I had heard somewhere in the past. Humans cannot perceive death, so metaphysically they does not die. But this is a crazy idea, man absolutely dies physically and metaphysically. Because the body perishes and the spirit completely disappears. 私はいつも不思議に思っていました。人間に絶対的な無、死というものがあるのであれば、アドルフ・ヒトラーとマザー・テレサの人生にいったい何の違いがあるのかと。もちろん片方はたくさん人を殺し、片方は人をたくさん救ったのかもしれません。しかし、天国と地獄がないのであれば、その最期の審判がないのであれば、ただ産まれ、死んだというだけの人間のちっぽけな人生という意味では同じだと思うのです。ある人は道徳的に生きたかもしれません。ある人は偽善的に生きたかもしれません。ある人はシリアル・キラーとして生きたかもしれません。ある人は自殺したかもしれません。ある人は生命維持装置を付けて死にながら生きたかもしれません。ある人は国家元首として、ある人は国を追われ難民として生きたかもしれません。ある人は戦争に行って赤ん坊の首を切ったかもしれません。ある人はリビング・ルームのテレビでそれを見て歓喜したり、憤怒したかもしれません。しかし死というものはすべての人間を包み込んでしまいます。死という無がすべてを飲み込むのであれば、人間はなぜ生きているのだろう。私はそのことに思い悩み、本をたくさん読みました。私の大好きなジャン=ポール・サルトルは、人生に意味など無い、人間が意味を付けながら強く生きなければならないとヒューマニズムを喧伝しました。ルートヴィヒ・ウィトゲンシュタインは、語り得ぬものについては沈黙しなければならない、と黙りました。ヴィクトール・フランクル博士は、「人生に対して意味を問うべきではなく、あなたは逆に人生から意味を問われているのだ」とコペルニクス的転回を図りました。フリードリヒ・ニーチェは、ニヒリズムを抜け出して超人になるべきだと言いました。
しかし私にはすべての無神論者の言葉が、空虚なものに思えました。この人生というゲームの中で、何度も自分の好きな哲学者の言葉で自分を奮い立たせて来ました。しかし時折、立ち上がれないほどの絶望的な気持ちになりました。そして実際に立ち上がれませんでした。もうこのまま死んでも仕方がないとさえ思いました。その理由は、そこではなく、「ここ」に、自分の人生に永遠が無いからでした。そのような時、昔どこかで聞いたことのある考えをふと思い出しました。人間は死を認識出来ないが故に、形而上学的には死なないと。しかしこれは突拍子も考えであり、人間は絶対的に形而下的にも形而上学にも死にます。なぜなら、肉体は滅び、精神も完全に消え去るからです。哲学的に、抽象的に死なないとしても、結果的にすべてが消え去るからです。
だからこそ私は、人間は絶対的に死ぬことを前提として、すべてが消え去る間際の、絶対的に経験することの出来ない死に近づき続ける人間の永遠性を信じたいと思ったのです。もちろん、アキレスと亀のように人間の意識は永遠に死に追い付かれないということを言うわけではありません。絶対的に意識は死に追い付かれ、すべては無に飲み込まれるのです。しかし、いつ消えたか分からない世界を、私たちの意識は、腕を失ってもまだあるかのように感じる幻肢のように、永遠に感じ続けるのではないでしょうか？もしくは、意図せずに永遠にその終焉に向けて近づき続けているとは言えないでしょうか。そして、人生最期の輝き、そのシャイニングを信じながら、死ぬために生きるのではなく、生きるために生きても良いのではないでしょうか？
私はニヒリズムに陥って、絶望的に、死体のように生きてきました。しかし、シャイニングを信じて、人生の最期に訪れるそれに向かって、より良く生きても良いのではないでしょうか？もしそのニヒリズムを、それが思い込みだとしても消し去ることが出きるのであれば。
私は小説も好きで、人生で大切にしている本の一冊である「ライ麦畑で捕まえて」と同じくらい好きなのが、ジャック・ケルアックの「路上」です。その中で主人公たちは「最後のもの」を探し続け、言葉に出来ない「あいつ」を探し続けて放浪を続けます。私たちもこの、形而上学的な「最後のもの」を探し求めた人間です。
私たちは、有史以来、神を信じないものには与えられなかった「永遠」、「最後のもの」を勝ち取った「人間」です。
そして、ただ、生きる。出来ることなら、より良く、より強く生きる。ただそれだけのことが難しいこの世界に、向けて私は言いたいのです。
人生に意味あれ、人生に栄光あれ、人間のかけがえのない人生に永遠あれ。
